One Congress, an iconic new addition to Boston’s skyline, has been named a winner of the 2024 American Architecture Award (AAA) in the Skyscraper and High Rises category. As one of the nation’s most prestigious architecture awards programs, the AAA highlights projects that set new benchmarks in design, construction, and urban planning, fostering innovation and inspiring communities.
Designed by Pelli Clarke & Partners, in collaboration with CBT Architects, One Congress has become a defining feature of Boston’s skyline and the Bulfinch Crossing neighborhood. Rising 43 stories, the tower’s sail-like form tapers gracefully toward the sky, offering sweeping views of Boston Harbor and the Charles River. The fluid exterior reflects natural light, accentuating the tower’s height and establishing a dynamic connection with the surrounding landscape. By night, its softly glowing silhouette serves as a modern landmark, blending beauty with purpose on the city’s horizon.
More than an architectural statement, One Congress exemplifies how thoughtful design can shape urban life. At Bulfinch Crossing, the tower transforms the area into a pedestrian-friendly hub, seamlessly integrating world-class office space with Boston’s vibrant community. Its design reimagines the workspace while fostering connections between people, place, and city.
The journey to create One Congress was a collaborative effort, drawing on the expertise and vision of Pelli Clarke & Partners, CBT Architects, and an exceptional project team. Their innovative approach has resulted in a building that not only redefines skyscraper design but also contributes meaningfully to Boston’s urban fabric.
This award stands as a reflection of the collective dedication and talent behind One Congress. It is a celebration of architecture’s ability to inspire and transform—a role One Congress will continue to play in Boston for years to come.
