Carr Properties won the award for Best Washington, D.C. Urban Office Development Over 150,000 SF for its Midtown Center development project at the NAIOP DC/MD 16th Annual Awards of Excellence. Carr Properties also won Best Real Estate Transaction for a Tenant Lease Over 25,000 SF for the Fox 5 News – WTTG lease at The Wilson, which is part of Carr’s 937,000 SF mixed-use development at 7272 Wisconsin Avenue in Bethesda, MD. The awards ceremony honored outstanding achievements in real estate for projects completed between July 1, 2016 and June 30, 2018. The Awards were presented at the annual gala held at The Fairmont Hotel in Washington, D.C. on Wednesday, October 3, 2018.

Midtown Center, the winner of Best Washington, D.C. Urban Office Development, was recently completed by Carr Properties. Designed by New York-based SHoP Architects, the 865,000 SF building boasts unique features such as two full-height curtainwall towers with copper cladding, three suspended bridges that connect the East and West office towers, and a stunning European style piazza designed to be a garden oasis in the center of the city. It also features a 45,000 SF plaza that offers access to a gathering place and of a unique mix of formal and informal dining, including a new Greek restaurant by Michelin Star chef Nicholas Stefanelli and Blue Bottle Coffee.
Carr Properties signed Fox 5 News – WTTG earlier this year as a future tenant of The Wilson in Bethesda located at 7272 Wisconsin Avenue. Slated to be completed in 2020, The Wilson is a mixed-use development project that will include office and retail space with a connected residential building, The Elm. This landmark deal with Fox 5 News marks the first time the company will move its headquarters from Washington, D.C.
